My stay at Barn Owl Lodge was excellent, lovely accommodation, great location and so peaceful and relaxing. The view from the garden of barn owls flying low over the common was just magic. Shotesham village was so peaceful and although I could not take my dogs into the local pub there was a nice area to sit outside in the late afternoon/early evening and enjoy a pint. Host of nice walks right on your doorstep. Would not hesitate to recommend the cottage and location to others.

We loved the immediate area. It was great being able to walk the dog on the common, the pub was good although not dog friendly, which was a pity. The barn was well furnished although we did get a little fed up of washing the only two mugs, a couple more would be good. The freezer desperately needed defrosting, one door completely frozen shut. The courtyard was private but would benefit from a little pruning to open up the views and give a little more sun. Overall we had a great stay in a delightful village, so peaceful and quiet.

if you're looking for a rustic retreat, this is it. Not so keen on the open plan bathroom, although understand the owner is already on the case.

Barn Owl Lodge is beautifully appointed and well equipped. The owners include a tray of goodies on arrival and extras, such as slippers, to make it feel more luxurious than the average cottage. The cottage is situated in a peaceful village location perfect for a relaxing break.

The Barn Owl Lodge was fantastic place to stay. It has been done up to a very high standard, beautifully decorated and feels very homely inside. The welcome tray of homemade cake, wine and cookies is a nice little touch and very much appreciated. We would 100% love to stay again!
