We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Blue Buttons. It was clean, bright, and comfortable, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. Everything we could need in a self catering property was provided. The kitchen was the best equipped one we have ever stayed in, and there was plenty of information about the local area, including walks, which we found very helpful. The location was excellent. It's set back from the road, so is very peaceful, but we could easily walk down into Skipton, or up the road to the farm shop. It's a very good centre for a holiday, with plenty to see and do.

Excellent week's walking in the Dales and great to come back to such a lovely property in the evening. The jacuzzi was also a big bonus. Hosts could not have been more friendly and hope to stay there again in the next year or so.

A Ten out of Ten, Five Star accommodation. If you are looking to stay in, or near, Skipton then do yourself a favour and look no further. Everything about this rental is perfect, I could not find a fault if I were paid to do so. Thanks and well done to the owners/renters. We look forward to visiting again!

We didn't find this cottage as central to the Dales for us as we hoped but that's maybe our choice of things to do. It is a nice building on first arrival but we found the size and set up strange for just two people. The lounge is so vast, we were sat at opposite sides of a room and ended up moving a huge sofa to be closer together. Unfortunately the armchair and sofa have seen been days as far as comfort goes - terrible. The tv was small for the size of room and only had a basic free view package. There was no phone, which for us as Carers was a big deal but luckily our mobiles did work there and there was internet connection (which ran out during our stay and the owner was quick at reinstating). On the plus side, the bed is one of the most comfortable holiday beds we've used for a long time. The kitchen/dining room over looking the back garden with its lovely birds was very enjoyable. Was so looking forward to the Jacuzzi Bath but all the stern health warnings that went with it and the complicated controls freaked me out, so we didn't bother in the end. Great boost to cottage is Keelham Farm Shop up the road, fabulous range of goods and great eatery in own right. N.b if you smell something strange, get rid of the fire lighters in the Lounge - eye wateringly bad (previous guest thought it was petrol from cars stored under house but owners still didn't work out what it was.)

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were upset to see that these guests were not happy with the seating in Blue buttons – the sofa is a kick back and lie out sofa – most people put the large foot stool in front and put their feet up and relax. In the interests of accommodating people who like traditional seating we have purchased a further leather chair which is a wing back armchair. With regard to sky T.V. and a phone – neither are an advertised facility – there is however good mobile reception. There is a standard notice supplied by English country Cottages which states that pregnant women and people with heart or circulatory problems should not use the Jacuzzi/whirlpool bath – this applies to all baths of this nature – in addition we ask guests to take care using it . We always leave the fire laid and this involves using fire lighters – we apologise that we had not placed the rest of the packet in a zip lock bag.
