A great location right in middle of Lymington. Views from the sitting room are very interesting. Plenty of places to visit locally. Pub next door.

Such a lovely place to stay, in a beautiful location, with so much to do and places to visit in the area. Hardly needed to use the car; could even walk to catch the ferry to Isle of Wight. Parking not a problem. Lots of really good information in Bosuns Locker - walks, history etc. Fantastic choice of pubs within walking distance, with great food and beer. The view from the sitting room at the top of the house sums up everything about our holiday. There for a week, but feels like a lot longer - in a very good way!

Our apologises if the linen was not up to the expected standard on this occasion. We have now gone through all the linen and made the replacements required.

This was my second visit so I already knew how lovely the house and the location were and this visit confirmed my impression from the previous stay. My only slight criticism is that Wifi is available only to bt openzone subscribers. I chose Bosuns Locker partly as base for walking, for which it was ideal, with the New Forest, the coast and the Isle of Wight all on the doorstep. Lymington is most attractive and quite by chance my visit coincided with the Solent Music Festival so I was able to enjoy 2 lovely concerts in the parish church as well.

The Bosuns Locker is a quirky property in the heart of Lymington; situated close to shops, quay and lots of convenient eating places and attractions. The view from the top floor is fantastic. However as mentioned by a number of others the property is on a very busy road with traffic constantly passing just feet from the front. The property would not be suitable for all as there is a winding spiral stairway used to clime up to bedroom and onward to the lounge. Parking is also a problem although maybe that was worse for us as the previous guests had taken the parking map with them and we did not receive it until they remembered to post it back. Overall the cottage was not as clean as we would expect but it could be that a.) we are fussy and b.) its the end of a season in which the property has been in constant use.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: I am so sorry that you found the cottage not as clean as you would expect. It should be as clean at the beginning of the season as at the end and this is what I expect as an owner. I will be ensuring that our caretakers are aware that the standards have not been met on this occasion. We do hope that all our guests make note of the photographs that we purposely place of the spiral staircase and note the very central location of the property, as you say close to all the amenities.
