Nestled in the tiny hamlet of Brigham, these former farm buildings date back to the 1700s and have been lovingly converted to provide wonderful holiday homes. All of the properties feature cosy underfloor heating as well as welcoming wood-burning stoves - ideal for those cooler evenings. Especially suitable for families with young children, the cottages have been individually decorated - each having been carefully designed. Outside, there are shared one-acre landscaped grounds to enjoy, with seating and a charcoal barbecue outside each cottage, which makes a perfect place for a summer picnic.

Ideal for families, as children and adults alike can enjoy farm life, gathering eggs for breakfast and feeding the friendly sheep, ponies, goats and guinea pigs on the children’s farm. For a different family day out, bikes are available to explore the stunning countryside on quiet, picturesque lanes. For older children there is shared use of a games room with a full-size snooker table and table tennis, whilst for the younger ones, a large sand pit, pedal tractors, trailers and diggers and various outdoor games are available. Within the locality there are also a number of golf courses, and riding stables are 10 miles away. Set alongside the Driffield Canal, it is the perfect location for those who enjoy ‘messing about on the river’, as there is a small jetty for those who wish to bring their own canoes or small boats.

Brigham village is noted in the Domesday Book and lies as a sleepy hamlet, yet just a few miles distant is the historical market town of Driffield. Delightful York (30 miles) is always a pleasure to visit, with plenty to do and see for the whole family. The magnificent minster dominates the city, which is full of quaint shops, restaurants and pubs. Together with the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum, this historic city makes for an entertaining day out.

For lovers of the outdoors, there are numerous walks for all standards incuding gentle strolls along the banks of the canal, coastal walks or taking in the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds. The beaches of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey are easily accessible, and Hornsea with its ‘Freeport Shopping Centre’ is also well worth a visit. The area boasts a number of stately homes, as well as theatres and cinemas. Shop within 2½ miles. Several pubs/restaurants within 3 miles.

Meadow View (IJV), The Byre (IJW), The Stable (IJX), The Granary (IJY) can be booked together to accommodate up to 20 guests and are suitable for families, whilst allowing privacy of their own accommodation.

The cottage was perfect for our needs. We had a lovely week and were able to visit the coast, family and Hull, city of culture, which was one of our aims. The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean. There was clear information about the kitchen equipment etc and lots of brochures about local places of interest.Situated in the countryside, the only noise was from occasional passing agricultural vehicles. The reason I rated local amenities as 7 is because the nearest shop/post office was at Beeford and there is no restaurant/pub within easy walking distance. But it is no great problem to drive the few miles! We would certainly like to go back again.

Our only problem related to the "courtyard" & the occupants of the two other cottages facing onto it. They probably arrived the same night as us & had a noisy family reunion which went on until 1am ish. My wife was unable to sleep because of it, despite being tired from the journey. Thankfully they left after the second night - but even in that one / two of them departed around 2am saying goodbye in normal (loud) voices. This awoke both of us. When they had left the cottage became totally peaceful. It did seem odd that with the owner living close by we never met. We would have done if the above problem had not cured itself eventually on the Sunday. Apart from that the instructions were all there and no input from them was necessary. PMB
