With the wonderful landscaped grounds of Stourhead adjacent, this makes an uplifting holiday retreat with a shop, pub and restaurant nearby.

This charming stone cottage stands right at the entrance to the gardens on the National Trust Estate of Stourhead, overlooking its own lawned area to the village church across the lane. Out of the front door, turn right and the garden of Stourhead is there to be enjoyed daily with its temples, monuments, rare trees and plants set around the magnificent lake.

This location provides an ideal base from which to explore the three counties which this area borders - from Wiltshire’s dreamy downland and the stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge, Dorset’s coastal beauty and bucolic charms, and the wilds of Exmoor and Quantocks in Somerset. Other attractions include Longleat House and Safari Park, the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury, with the famous Gold Hill featured in the Hovis adverts. The beautiful Georgian city of Bath, which features the Roman Baths and Pump Room, the Royal Crescent and the two National Trust properties of The Assembly Rooms and Prior Park Gardens, is just over 20 miles away. Wilton House and Salisbury are also all easily accessible by car. Shop, pub and restaurant 220 yards.
