We loved this cottage and its tranquil surroundings. A little bit remote but the location is great for a quiet holiday in the countryside. The cottage itself is a small barn conversion. It is very comfortable having everything you need and very nicely furnished. The cottage is about 6 miles from Battle where there are supermarkets. We found a couple of National Trust properties fairly near, one a castle and the other Rudyard Kipling's house. Also a visit to Rye was very worthwhile. Everywhere you look is fields and woods. You can spend hours just looking at the view and the wildlife. What more could you ask for! We loved it and so did the dog.

Lovely location in a field of sheep! Barn has been converted to a high standard. The sofas were uncomfortable as we often find in holiday cottages...style over comfort. Apart from that, an excellent place to stay. We visited numerous National Trust properties and made the most of our membership. Did not realise how wooded the area is so missed the vistas and countryside views we were expecting to see.

Lovely little barn, a perfect hideaway but plenty to see and do nearby with gardens and historic buildings galore, fantastic countryside and views, picturesque villages and seaside. Its off the beaten track and a little tricky to find but worth hunting for. Beautifully converted, nice and cosy with all mod cons, great shower but be aware that the internet is unreliable and no mobile signal. Also you may be woken by sheep in the early hours in the field surrounding the cottage but any sleep disturbance is outweighed by totally relaxing on the sunny patio with a bottle of wine courtesy of the owners. A little gem.
