An ideal cottage for two. Steep narrow stairs down to the kitchen and eating area could be a problem for anyone not steady on their feet. The kitchen could benefit from an update. It is ideally situated for visiting the many lovely seaside towns, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Buddleigh Salterton, Beer etc. Would particularly recommend a trip on the Seaton electric tram and a visit to the Beer Quarry caves.

Choice of local pubs and restaurants extremely limited. The best pub was always booked up. Found eating out in South Devon pretty disappointing overall. On a positive note, crab sandwich in beach café at Beer was outstanding. Seaton well worth a visit for the tramway.

A small but cute cottage, we agree with previous reviewers that perhaps the bathroom and kitchen could use some investment. We didn't use the kitchen very much as there are two good pubs an easy walk away in the village both serving food. However, we think that the small bathroom would benefit if the bath was removed and a larger shower installed. Apart from the two good pubs and gorgeous river views there is little else in Axmouth village however the larger town of Seaton is a fifteen/twenty minute walk away along the river so there is everything you need on your doorstep including a beach. This is a cottage with a lot of character in a great position for a relaxing holiday.

Kitchen and bathroom could do with a re-fresh. The sofa is not the most comfortable. Was clean on arrival and wifi worked fine. Advertised with fifteen acres but no accessible path for any of it to be used - that we could see. But the bed - it was the most comfortable bed ever, truly divine. We enjoyed our stay at Cottage Pie.
