Interesting House and pretty village but unfortunately local pub had ceased trading I thought the access to the house was poor. Kitchen basic House a bit shabby. Double bedroom only one bedside light Loved the area but would not wish to stay at Whalton Manor again.

A very interesting and atmospheric wing of an old Manor House, with architecturally significant features and a beautifully landscaped and well-tended garden. Has a full-size snooker table which is great fun. Note that the kitchen has oak panelling which makes the room quite dark, and the bathrooms are quite dated. However, many rooms have generous proportions. The accommodation is very well situated for exploring Northumberland, from Hadrian's Wall to the south/west, and Holy Island to the north-east.

This is a beautiful place to stay. We really enjoyed it and the host couldn't have been nicer. The open fire and comfy beds were wonderful. Only few little niggles were the TV was a little hit and miss with channels depending on the weather and the wifi wasn't quite working. If we come back to the area, then this is a great place to stop.

We loved staying here and would definitely stay again if we return to the area. The East Wing was full of character and charm. It was the best equipped kitchen I have had in holiday accommodation. We usually go out for evening meals on our holidays, but the house was so comfortable that we ate there every night. We arrived late at night when it was dark so a map or plan would have been helpful.
