Delve into the medieval history of Raby Castle, walk or cycle the Teesdale Way or wonder at the splendour of High Force waterfall.

This homely, beautifully presented cottage sits close to another holiday cottage, amidst the grounds of Thorpe Hall Estate. The rural location offers an idyllic place to ‘get away from it all’ and truly relax with family or friends. Sleeping four guests, Greystones Cottage is perfect for a small family or is equally suitable for two couples holidaying together. With beautiful sunsets, the River Tees flowing close by and the Teesdale Way, this is a truly magical setting for your holiday base so ensure you make the most of the beautiful sights. Take the time to also admire the stunning gardens designed by Chelsea gold medallist 2012, Arne Maynard, at the award-winning Thorpe Hall by arrangement with the owner who also kindly leaves a welcome pack waiting for you on arrival. Take a trip to the local pub and farm shop providing good home-made food, or toast to your holiday and relax with a glass of wine. If you prefer to rest at home, be assured the property is well-equipped for a cosy and peaceful evening in. The open fire in the living room creates the perfect ambiance for snuggling up and making the most of your time away with your family. However you wish to spend your break, Greystones Cottage can provide the perfect base.

Cottage well equipped and generally comfortable. Upstairs shower room cramped and double bedroom also a little tight on space. Cottage entrance on a bend but fortunately traffic light otherwise could be a problem exiting. Otherwise location very pleasant surrounded by fields with wildlife including a hare. Local farm shop very limited but another some 10 mins drive was excellent. Bottle of wine in fridge on arrival very welcome. Would consider using again if we returned to area although this would be unlikely.
