The cottage is the best appointed that we have ever booked. The owners, Steve and Rachel, were friendly and helpful with lots of useful local information. The location is lovely; peaceful with wonderful views of the Stiperstones. We would happily stay again.

This was our first visit to Shropshire - Meadow Barn was a wonderful base. The countryside was superb, and sitting outside with drinks watching Red Kites was one of the highlights. Steve & Rachel could not have been more friendly & helpful, their suggestions of places to visit was extremely helpful. We will definitely book again. One small suggestion - when the sofa needs to be replaced please could it be higher off the floor -it proved a bit awkward - we did find it funny but by the end of the week we found it a bit of a chore. We did our main food shopping at Shrewsbury - this is the reason why the Local Amenities score is quite low.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: David thank you very much for the feedback and we love that you enjoyed Meadow Barn so much. We still appreciate watching the red kites and it’s brilliant that they have become a daily addition to The South Shropshire Hills AONB. I’m not sure if you also saw the red grouse that have been reintroduced to the hill, they have become quite at home and we see more and more every year. Steve and I really appreciate the feedback about the sofa. You will be very happy to learn that we have raised the sofa by 4”/10cm. We commissioned larger wooden block feet and it’s worked perfectly. We do take feedback very seriously and genuinely hope that the next time we see you, you will approve the new height of the sofa. You raised a good point about the supermarkets and how local they are to the Barn. Our closest supermarket is 9 miles away at Churchstoke, however we do have a local Co-Op store in Minsterley which is 5miles away, or a corner shop 1½ miles away for the basics including daily papers. You encouraged me to look at on line superstores that deliver to Meadow Barn. I was delighted to see that the results show Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda, all coming to Meadow Barn, so if you fancy online shopping they will come to you. Thanks again David for your feedback.
