Dating back hundreds of years, this Grade II listed barn, is close to Much Wenlock, and Shrewsbury and Ludlow are easily reached.

This former barn, now Grade II listed, dates back hundreds of years and has been sympathetically converted to provide high class accommodation with modern conveniences, tasteful interior and a good sense of space throughout. The holiday property, adjacent to the owners’ home, is situated midway between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth and just a short distance from the popular town of Much Wenlock. The Wenlock Edge, ever popular with walkers, can be seen across the open countryside that stretches out in front of the property, making it ideal for nature lovers and ornithologists. Shopping is a joy in Shropshire with its medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, and the cuisine is superb. Shops 5 miles, pub 2½ miles.

Ground Floor:
Living room: With digital TV, DVD player and CD player.
Kitchen/dining room: With fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
First floor:
Bedroom: With super kingsize bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.

Oil underfloor central heating (£20 supplement October-March). Small patio with garden furniture. Stabling and grazing available on request. Private parking for 2 cars.

Old Hall Barn is set in a beautiful area of Shropshire with great local walks and many places of interest in the area. The cottage has no mobile phone reception or internet so you have to be prepared to have a holiday from these and this may not suit everyone. Old Hall Barn is beautifully converted and furnished by the owners who live in the adjacent property and is very comfortable. Visiting in December, however, the underfloor heating alone was not adequate when the temperatures were low and upstairs, which is unheated was particularly cold. It was great to be able to bring our dog and a gate allowed him to be safely contained in the kitchen. This is a very quiet, rural area and the cottage makes a good base for exploring the country towns and for walking. I enjoyed my stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review. The holiday cottage is attached to our home and has underfloor heating both upstairs and downstairs during the winter months - it is kept at constant temperature that is the minimum requirement for English Country Cottages and then when we have a booking the temperature is raised. If however guests alter the settings as happened in this case the heating was not sufficient as it was no longer on Constant heat. The heating instructions are available in the cottage.

Fabulous place, spotlessly clean and Sarah was extremely friendly and welcoming. Sometimes a cottage for two can be rather bijou but this one is well laid out and plenty of space. Will definitely go there again.

A very homely cottage in a spectacular location with plenty to do in the area. A very comfortable rustic bed made by the owner.

Excellent host, splendid welcome, great location, comfortable (although my partner didn't find the sitting room furniture comfortable) - a lovely place to stay. Would maybe not stay there again, but only because there are so many other places to visit

Excellent location, wonderful views, friendly owners (and dogs). Very, very quiet. The narrow road may disturb nervous drivers but it's not very long. There was excellent attention to detail (such as ordnance survey maps) which made our stay extremely pleasurable.
