The plus points come from a lovely setting and real peace and tranquillity, dark skies at night for stargazing and a river running through the property. Riverside Lodge is tacked on the end of a converted Cotswold stone mill of some age. The downside is the standard of maintenance in the Lodge. To be blunt, the broken bed should be taken out and burnt as a health risk. We had to go straight out and buy a deodoriser, fresh pillows, duvet, mattress protector etc. as those provided stank of stale sweat and mould. Even so, it was impossible to get a decent night's sleep on this narrow and flimsy structure, as other reviewers have remarked. Towels were damp and showed signs of not being freshly laundered and came in vile shades of olive. The décor is eccentric but dated rather than vintage and the years have taken their toll and left it scruffy. I could not in all conscience recommend this property in its current state and urge the owners to get professional advice for a major refurbishment .

A place far away from civilisation! Lovely for me as it was just what was needed. Had hoped to use the swimming pool but it was only available in the mornings. Really enjoyed the lodge.
