Situated in rolling Cornish countryside this tranquil, detached, single-storey barn conversion offers very spacious accommodation which has been furnished to a high contemporary standard. The kitchen is well-equipped and you can enjoy seasonal vegetables and salad picked from the owner’s vegetable plot. Many attractions are easy to access, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan; the wonderful sandy beaches of the north coast and the harbour village of Padstow with its fine restaurants. A super place for a quiet week in May. Surprisingly spacious and well equipped for a couple.

We thoroughly recommend Skyber Vean. The cottage is lovely and clean and well cared for by the charming owners who live adjacent. On arrival the cottage was warm and welcoming. It has every little convenience most could wish for The cottage, situated in open countryside is tucked away along a narrow windy lane. In October there was little traffic other than the occasional local car and farm tractors. A predictable consequence though was plenty of mud on the lanes when wet. Also a small lane for farm access runs alongside the property which sees some vehicular activity though not enough to spoil our visit . Wadebridge is around 15mins drive for local conveniences and eats and the North coast was in easy reach by car. All in all we loved it.

This was our fifth visit to Skyber Vean so that says it all. A lovely cottage with plenty of room for two people and in such a peaceful spot, we had breakfast outside with just the birds for company. We had the usual warm welcome from Cheryl & Tim who are always there if you need them but do not intrude. The cottage is warm & welcoming and is very well equipped with everything you need for a stress free holiday. We would recommend it to anyone and we will certainly be back for our sixth visit as soon as possible.

Don't be fooled by my comment that I wouldn't stay again. That's because I have a policy of trying new places, not because of disappointment with the cottage. I found the cottage to be one of the best I have ever visited. It was generously sized equipped and well laid out, with tasteful decoration. A (very) slight criticism was that the dining area lighting could have been better and you have to be very familiar with the four corners of your car when negotiating the sometimes narrow lanes. The good news is that traffic isn't heavy and other drivers are generally understanding. Access to all the "Poldark Country" attractions and scenery was easy. Groceries and vehicle fuel are easily obtained at supermarkets in all significant towns, adjacent to main routes. Even though (just) outside the main holiday period, parking in most resort towns was very difficult, the only exception being Padstow for some reason. For a day trip to Truro, their park and ride facility is excellent and removes the parking issue.
