Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. We enjoyed our short stay at Sutherland’s Drift. The purpose of our stay was a family wedding, so we didn’t get out to explore the local area as much as we would have done on a normal holiday. That said, the view and surroundings were lovely and we would expect that if you wanted to go walking or cycling, there would be plenty of opportunity. The location is quite remote, so if you’re looking to get away from it all, it’s perfect. Aug 2012.
  2. A lovely, friendly working farm, very relaxed and comfortable. Our 2 year old particularly enjoyed the animals. The single storey barn suited our party of 5 very well. Could be a bit ’off the beaten track’ if wanting to be near shops or pubs, but this was something we really liked. Aug 2012.
  3. A good choice for those wishing to escape the clamour of modern day life. It combined spacious comfort as a dwelling with the added every day interest of living within a working farm. May 2011.
  4. Sutherland’s Drift is a lovely, comfortable, clean, well maintained cottage. It has an enclosed garden and is set in beautiful Shropshire countryside on a working farm. We found it wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Everything is in perfect working order and the cottage is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need on a holiday. Oct 2010.
  5. Spacious and well-equipped. Sept 2010.
  6. The layout was good and suited our party well. Location was also good as we wanted to shop in Shrewsbury. March 2010.
  7. The property was attractive and i expect it would be very comfortable in the summer. However, it is not equipped for very cold weather conditions. The central heating and insulation was not really adequate and it was hard to maintain a constant comfortable temperature using log on the wood burner. Dec 2009.
  8. Beautiful, cosy, wonderful location. Oct 2009.
  9. Very cosy in the lounge especially for a winter break. I am disabled so found the property on one level and a shower cubicle very useful. Because of the size of the property the heating was not adequate in the cold weather, although the log burner in the lounge made up for the lack of heat in that room. Cold in the other rooms. there were four of us and the hot water ran out with us all showering/bathing in the morning. We had no control over the timing of the heating and water. Plenty of logs supplied though free of charge. Overall a Good property if you can cope with the cold. Lovely owners. Nov 2009.
  10. Beautiful restoration and setting. Oct 2009.
  11. The location and the accomodation were all excellent. Clean, lovely decor and facilities. Helpful owners. Sept 2009.
  12. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous - and the owner’s are very, very friendly. It was a delightful week away. Sept 2009.
  13. Excellent house, very friendly owner, beautiful location. A superb holiday house in an ideal place. May 2009.
  14. This was a fabulous place which well exceeded our expectations. We would love to go back. Feb 2009.
  15. Stephanie was available and very sociable and helpful. Stephanie rang us to give directions of how to get there.. this was important as it isn’t otherwise clear. The owners very helpful indeed, the accommodation and facilities were excellent. Thanks for a great week. Beautiful setting, situation and surroundings. Idyllic. Great and interesting to be on a farm.. though some written information about the farm and its workings/ walks etc at the start of the week would have been interesting and useful. Perhaps it was there and we just missed it. Lovely welcome package of free range eggs, home made jam and liqueur chocolates on our arrival. Super time, super week. Thanks. July 2008.
  16. Sutherlands Drift was beautiful and homely and Stephanie (the owner) was lovely. It was a lovely introduction to holidaying for our 4 month old daughter who is now much more interested in animals since staying on the farm. Our accommodation location was good, giving us access to child friendly activities and within easy driving distance of Ironbridge. June 2008.
  17. Our seventh visit and always so good to go back - owners brilliant. June 2008.
  18. The property is part of a beautiful farm. Plenty of walks, and such a comfortable place. March 2008.
  19. The accommodation was once again excellent as this is the second time I had been there. And Stephaine and Neil are the most helpful and welcoming people. The area is so peaceful and relaxing will go again. Dec 2007.
  20. The owner made the holiday a truly memorable experience. The children enjoyed collecting eggs, feeding animals and watching the day to day working of the farm. July 2006.
