We had a lovely weekend at The Buttery - The cottage was immaculately clean, the kitchen had all the equipment we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was great. The cottage is one of three in a small courtyard, each has it's own private garden with great views. The weather was fabulous but this made sleeping difficult as there was very little air circulating despite sleeping with the windows open, I would liked to have had fans in the bedrooms. The main living area is comfortable, but needs a refresh as the sofas are past their best and the walls are badly scuffed and need a new coat of paint. The information on the site needs to be updated as it stated the double bedroom had a tv which it didn't and the nearest pub is actually closed. You will need a car as other than plenty of walks, there is not very much nearby, but if you have small children I would highly recommend Newberry Farm.

The Buttery was well located to visit lots of places. Having 3 bathrooms was great - it made life much easier with 6 people staying there! The cottage had all major things you need to make your holiday as stress free as possible - WiFi for the teenagers, and a dishwasher and washing machine for the adults! It does lack a bit of hanging/drawer space in the bedrooms - some hooks on the bedroom/bathroom doors would be useful. Comfortable cottage apart from a VERY squeaky bed in the double room which made sleep disturbed.

We had a wonderful stay and the location was perfect because my parents live 5 minutes walk away (and with my sisters staying for Christmas, plus nephews and niece, there was a houseful). By and large the house was very comfortable and well appointed, however, the only grumble (and it's a minor one) is that the main lighting in both the living area and kitchen was from very harsh fluorescent bulbs - both rooms would have benefitted from softer options. Otherwise it was a most enjoyable stay and we'd certainly come back. The Chandlers.
