Fantastic views of the Somerset countryside can be admired from this cotage, with plenty of walks straight from the doorstep.

Tucked away in the unspoilt west Somerset countryside, on the edges of the hamlet of Treborough. Located on the owners’ sheep farm, the cottage has been finished to a high standard with modern convenience. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path. Visit the villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), the Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade, a good array of shops and other amenities. Beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor. Shop and pub 2 miles.

All on the ground floor. 2 steps to entrance (with ramp and wheelchair access). Large, open-plan living/dining room with wood-burning stove and well-equipped beamed kitchen area with wooden floor. Two double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and toilet. Twin bedroom with zip and link beds (can be double bed on request). Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Just the most beautiful setting for a relaxing break. The owners are so thoughtful and welcoming and The Cottage is a super place to stay. So much to see and do within a few miles of the property and returning to the house each day was a real joy. Loved the local walks, the birds and sheer peace of the farm and the house.

Lovely well equipped cottage on a farm owned by the cottage owners who were very welcoming. Not much to do in the local area, however if you are looking for a place to get away from it all, you couldn’t do any better than this.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are glad you found everything you needed to enjoy your stay in The Cottage. It is a shame that over the New Year, many of the local businesses and attractions close. We hope you can come again to discover some of the delights of Exmoor including National trust homes, beaches and the famous steam train to name a few.

A very nice cottage in a nice location. The kitchen has almost all you would need, tidy and well equipped.the bedrooms were a little disappointing. The mattresses are tired and in need of an upgrade and the pillows the worst I have found in a five star cottage. The bath waste was blocked so you soon found yourself up to your ankles in dirty water when having a shower. The biggest issue however was the cockerel that crowed from 4am every morning, this completely ruined our holiday. This would have been a quiet and tranquil stay without it. Nowhere in the details of the property is the cockerel mentioned. This is failure to disclose a very relevant fact to allow customers to make an informed choice and is illegal! This is certainly not a five star property . I really look forward to your response Kind Regards .

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are deeply sorry that our guest did not enjoy his holiday as we would have hoped. We always take our guests comments into account but of course mattresses and pillows are a matter of personal choice. The mattress in question is less than a year old and since your comments; additional pillows have been purchased to cater more for our future guests’ particular tastes and individual comfort. On arrival all wastes were running freely but as we all know these can become blocked. Had our guests reported the problem to us we would have rectified the problem immediately as we live opposite and greet our guests personally so they know we are always on hand to help. We clearly state in the features and in the property text that our cottage is on a working farm and this is what draws our guests of all generations to return again and again and again, to be closer to, even hands on with our animals. Our chickens have an enclosure some distance from the cottage but have been known to escape. The booking conditions our guest agreed to when making the booking with the Agency clearly state that the owners cannot be held responsible for any noise beyond their control, but in view of the strong feelings of our guest, sadly the offending cockerel has been rehomed. We are proud not only to offer 5 star grading which is awarded to us by the Agency who visit us regularly and assess our property according to their terms and conditions, but also to have this grading recognised by our receiving the customer choice award numerous times as a result of our guest’s positive reviews.
