Play croquet on the private lawn - families or groups of friends will be impressed by this 18th-century former barn.

In the South Downs National Park, this rustic, characterful detached 18th-century former barn is set in the owner’s beautiful grounds, in the heart of this quintessentially English village with pub, green and cricket pitch. The property serves as an ideal weekend get-away for families or groups of friends. It has a one-acre private garden with croquet lawn, mature specimen plants including a beautiful 300-year old cedar tree and an outside terrace with table and chairs for 10 which serves as an ideal spot to enjoy al-fresco dining. The detached heated games room with pool table, table tennis and table football, ensures there is something for the whole family to enjoy, even on rainy days. Inside the property, along with wonderful original features including beautiful exposed stone walls, flagstone and brick floors and rustic beams, there is a wood-burning stove, an Aga and an oak dining table, whilst the bedrooms have Victorian bedsteads and deep mattresses, ensuring a good night’s rest. The 16th-century pub found 400 yards away on the village green is the starting point for numerous walks, cycle, bridle trails and a launch site for hot-air balloon flights. Black Down, the highest point in the National Park, with its pine and heather covered slopes is immediately accessible on foot. Whether you wish to explore the local area or simply relax at home, this characterful property has it all.

Great place to spend the weekend for a large group.... we were 8 girls who do an annual relaxation weekend and this was perfect. Easy to get to, good pubs and walks and also the nearest town is only a 3 mile drive where you can browse some lovely shops and buy any groceries from Waitrose. There was only one small issue which we brought to the attention of the owner in that the wonderfully large open fire was smoking out the room a lot so maybe the chimney needed a clean. Owner was really lovely and we would definitely go back to this place again. Would recommend 100%
