A delightful `old world` cottage, spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owners have clearly given a lot of thought to the layout and furnishings and the interiors are stylish and beautifully coordinated. The kitchen is contemporary and well equipped, and the bathroom (up a narrow staircase on the second floor) is positively luxurious. There are lots of thoughtful touches, from the welcoming Dorset apple cake on arrival to the excellent folders of local information and suggestions for footpath walks in the area. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable and were happy to suggest local places to visit and eat. We were delighted with their recommendations- especially the memorable walk on nearby Eggardon Hill! This was our second visit: we had a great holiday and I am sure we will be back before long.

The best holiday cottage I've ever stayed in. Things that I liked included: A sense of quiet luxury (great roll-top bath with plenty of hot water), comfy beds, quality decor and furnishings. They laid out a tea tray with tasty cake and all the crockery on it so we didn't have to rootle through cupboards when we'd just arrived weary. Thoughtful generosity - plenty of dishwasher tablets, cleaning stuff and loo roll. Beach towels in the airing cupboard, plenty of hooks, bedside lights bright enough to read by. The kitchen was very well equipped, and I enjoy cooking. They even had a knife sharpener for the already sharp knives. The owners were very kind and can-do. I'd allowed a couple of hours spare on our journey, but M5 summer traffic meant we were in danger of missing our grocery delivery. I got a phone call from the delivery man while we were still 15 minutes away to say he'd arrived, the helpful owners had let him in and the perishables were in the fridge and freezer as needed. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at The Elbow. The cottage was well maintained, well equipped and very comfortable. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is well situated giving easy access to both the coast (from Lulworth through Weymouth and Abbotsbury to Burton Bradstock) and also the inland areas to the west (e.g. Forde Abbey) and north (e.g. Sherborne), all of which are well worth a visit. Local amenities are a little thin on the ground, but with Dorchester only a few minutes drive away that is not really much of an issue. All in all we had a great time and would certainly consider going back to catch all the sites we did not have time to see in our week there.

What a beautiful cottage, full of lovely art works and so comfortable. And thanks to our hosts for providing such a lovely place. The weather for our break was not good, but it was pleasurable to be able to stay at the cottage and watch dvds (good selection) and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Downside? No mobile reception. Though come to think of it, this is probably a plus!
