Choose from a variety of nearby activities, including golf, fishing, walking and bird watching.

Originally built in 1825 as a ruin, this unique Grade II listed building has been sympathetically transformed into two lovely, detached gatehouses yet retaining all the visual appearances of a ruin. Built in stone from Filey Brigg, The Follies are set in 3/4 acres of natural grounds and visitors are welcome to wander through them, where there is an abundance of wildlife including, rabbits, owls and squirrels.
Centrally located for exploring the North Yorkshire coast, moors and wolds, the historic town of Filey is only 3 miles distant, with its wide sandy beach and all the attractions of a popular seaside resort. Scarborough and Bridlington are both easily accessible, as is the beautiful city of York. There is a 9-hole golf course locally, fishing available nearby, and an RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs providing interest for bird-watchers. There are plenty of local shops and pubs within walking distance, and good railway links. Shop 500 yards.

Cosy living room with rug on stone floor, Gothic arched windows and insets in walls, vaulted ceiling and original Gothic archway leading to grounds. Well-equipped fitted kitchen/dining room with stone floor. Bathroom with shower over whirlpool bath and toilet. First floor: Minstrel gallery double bedroom with sloping ceiling, double bed and ½ tester above.

It was just a little cold when we first arrived and took a while to warm up. Otherwise everything was perfect. The wine and chocolates were a really nice touch.

Pleasant location, well placed to visit the surrounding area. Comfortable place to stay as long as you remember to keep you head down in the sleeping area, due to sloping roof. Would certainly return as it was just a lovely place to stay. Another plus is you can take the family dog.

An excellent relaxing holiday in a beautiful old folly. The whirlpool bath and cosy heating were very welcome as we got soaked on 2 days of our stay. The dog enjoyed a run in the grounds. Owners were very friendly and helpful. We wanted to book again but all the dates we wanted were booked.... Which speaks for itself!
