Disappointed, disappointing, would not go back. Didn't read the reviews before we went as we didn't want to be swayed, now we wished we had. Romantic retreat???? How?? You are feet away from owners house, have to walk past their dining room and living room to get to and from the folly. The outside space pictured, that you think you can have a lovely evening meal outside on is in the owners garden. The one time we used the table, the dogs came out, barked a bit to which the owner called them back in and slammed the gate shut, making us feel as though we shouldn't be there. Oh, I forgot. . . . The dogs. Thanks for mentioning the five, yes FIVE dogs the owners have. We love dogs, but when they come out barking it is very off putting. I've since read how lovely and helpful the owners are, they didn't even bother saying hello to us or even querying if everything was okay. Now on to the Folly itself, the stairs didn't bother us, the cramp space not a problem, didn't even mind carrying meals up those stairs (a fold away table downstairs needed) but the cleanliness disappointing. Cobwebs everywhere, dust on doors and picture rail, dead moth in window, dirty dishcloth. Come on, it's not that big of a place to not be on top of this. Nearly forgot, if you don't like spiders, and I don't mean those lovely little creepy crawlies, but great big black beasties, don't book. At least 4 a night. Would not return, would not recommend, if you want a romantic retreat try the Blackcraig Bridgehouse in Blairgowrie.

We had a great time at the folly. Very nice reception. We made use of the swimmingpool. All very relaxed. A unusual place for a special holiday.
