The Granary was a lovely cottage with two good sized bedrooms easy, effectively, with their own en suite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and we had welcome gifts of food & toiletries. Graeme, our host, was friendly & welcoming but not too intrusive. The Granary was a real home from home with Sky TV (we didn't venture out in the evenings) which was useful. The kitchen was well equipped. Some cottages feel like they are equipped with the owner's cast offs but this was anything but with quality all round. If I return to Durham for any reason, I would certainly stay at the Granary again. I highly recommend it.

Really well thought out cottage. Ideal for families or two couples , very comfy beds! Set on a farm with country views from Windows and could see cows grazing in next field. Welcome pack provided by very hospitable owners. You will need a car to get about and you need to travel out a bit further to find the pretty villages. Supermarkets 10 mins away. We did lots of walking in the countryside and came back to a cosy cottage. We did use the log burner although the cottage was warm enough without it. A pretty and relaxing little gem of a place.

Late availability booking to attend the open air show at Bishop Auckland, "Kynren", we were fortunate to find Granary Cottage. The Owner very helpful. Quiet, and practical, all equipment on hand. Small enclosed courtyard area, with table, chairs. Parking for 2 cars adjacent to cottage. Walking from the door. Easy access to Bishop Auckland and Durham. Car required.
