Set within the grounds of the Swan Hotel and Spa, a wide range of facilities are available to guests of this end-of-row property, which is located near to the village of Lakeside - a most convenient base from which to explore the Southern Lakes and beyond.

Situated in the Swan Hotel and Spa’s grounds, visitors have access to an indoor heated swimming pool and a Jacuzzi, along with 2 acres of pristine grounds to explore. For those wanting to leave the car behind, the Hatherthwaite Steam Railway runs nearby, and you have great walks from your doorstep going to Finsthwaite and High Dam via various scenic routes. The famous village of Cartmel is only a short drive away, and you can also visit the Lakeland Car Museum, which is situated just up the road. Alternatively, for a day of excitement, try your luck on some horses at Cartmel Racecourse. Line fishing nearby (River Leven at £10 per day, licence required). Beach 8 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
The Mallard can be booked together with The Hedgehog (UK1053), The Owl Nest (UK1055), The Dormouse (UK1056) and The Love Nest (UK1057) to accommodate up to 34 guests.

Shared use of hotel’s indoor heated swimming pool (10m x 6m, depth 4m, open 7am - 8:30pm daily) with shower and changing facilities, and Jacuzzi. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced river in the grounds, 200 yards away. This property has a security deposit of £200.

    We booked the Mallard, which we chose as it was on the end of the row, but were moved to a mid terraced let, so we had occupants either side! The sofas are all feather and although very plush, they also become very compressed and uncomfortably solid. No privacy at all in the kitchen, no blinds or shutters to have the option to close. Very light in the bedrooms as the shutters let in a lot of light. Over all though a lovely holiday.
