Cleverly combined, this property incorporates beautiful, traditional features with many contemporary furnishings to create a fantastic, large and spacious holiday property. Nestled in the ground of Old Brook House Estate, you will truly feel like you are part of a story here at The Old Coach House!
Brook House dates all the way back to the 12th-century and has withstood many wars throughout its time. It has had some magnificent owners through the years, including the Seely family who bought the house in the mid 1800’s. One of the famous visitors to Brook House during Charles Seely’s ownership was Garibaldi, the Italian General and Politician. Jack Seely later went on to inherit the property from his father and he was the Secretary of State for War at the outbreak WWI. He then resigned due to being caught up in political difficulties with Ireland (the Curragh affair), and was replaced by General Kitchener. Jack fought in the war with his horse, Warrior, who became famous as the horse the Germans couldn’t kill. Many famous people have visited this property including Winston Churchill, Henry VII and many more. So if you love to be knee deep in history, then The Old Coach House is for you.
The house itself has everything you could wish for to ensure a relaxing stay. Sleeping up to 10 guests and accepting two pets, it is perfect for large family gatherings or quiet, peaceful getaways. The beamed living room, with comfortable sofas, provides an excellent space to gather with family and friends, whilst immersing in this beautiful setting.
Head out and explore this extensive location. Spend your days walking through the many footpaths that surround - Why not discover the Warrior Trail or Churchill Trail during your stay and submerge yourself in history whilst enjoying the outdoors?
