Riverside are owned by Maggie and Ron, a delightful couple who couldn't be more helpful. The cottage location was incredible and although there is no real garden of your own, it didn't matter as our kids played in Maggies, and the views across the river were lovely. The cottage is very spacious and Maggie has taken a great deal of care to make the place very homely and as a result it is beautifully furnished. We had no real idea of what there was to do in the area but Maggie knows and her suggestions were faultless, we had a wonderful time at eastnor castle, symonds yat and at Hay on wye itself. A truly perfect holiday - just one small issue in there being no dishwasher, not a huge problem for a couple but for a family of four meant a lot washing up!!!

Superb place to stay. Lots to see within 20 miles, that's if you can drag yourself away from sitting in the garden watching the river and cattle beyond. Super pubs for lunch or dinner. Maggie just got everything right with perfect welcome pack even a Sunday paper. So peaceful and comfortable. Liked it when we arrived loved it by the time we left.
