Standing peacefully at the edge of the village of Rillington, this cottage offers the chance to explore the coastal towns.

Standing peacefully at the edge of the village of Rillington, this cottage offers the chance to explore the coastal towns.

Situated at the tranquil heart of the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, Rose Cottage offers deluxe holiday accommodation for 5 within characterful, red-brick walls of a grand old former barn. The interiors feature a spacious open plan that’s flooded with light and bursting with character. Ideal for tight-knit families and friends, enjoy a hearty chinwag with a drink and homemade food, before charades by the fire that will inevitably run long into the evening.

This wheelchair-friendly property caters for all manner of holidaymakers, with an enclosed lawned garden for the dog, a place to hang your waterproofs in the drying/boot room, and a spot in front of the TV with your name on it. With French doors, oak floors, a well-equipped kitchen, a gas wood burner and underfloor central heating (powered by renewable energy), the stage is set for an unforgettable holiday in ‘God’s own county’.
Encompassed by an eclectic mix of villages, towns, ancient cities and dramatic natural landscapes, this region of North Yorkshire is a hive of activity all year round. Traverse the wildflower meadows and the tumbling terrain of the Howardian Hills one day, then lose yourselves in the sweeping desolate moorland of the North York Moors the next. With sheer and unforgiving cliffs standing 200-metres high above a relentless assault from the North Sea, surrender to the natural magnificence of Yorkshire’s Heritage Coast.

Arguably the quintessential stately home in the country, Castle Howard promises unrivalled opulence and grandeur throughout, a must-visit during your stay. Spend a day in the life of an aristocrat, sauntering round the 1000-acre grounds and parkland. You can link arms with your spouse and experience an afternoon’s Downton-esque romance.
The youngsters won’t be able to contain themselves en-route to Flamingo Land, and literary enthusiasts will doubtless be drawn to Whitby, birthplace of Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula.

Very spacious, beamed, open-plan living/dining room with gas woodburner, French doors, oak floor, vaulted ceiling and well-equipped kitchen area with tiled floor. Two double bedrooms, each with 6ft zip & link bed, one with door to patio, TV and en-suite wet room with toilet. Bathroom with over-bath shower, toilet, grab rails and shower seat.

  • Additional single bed (for +1) on request

Beautiful cottage, extremely well maintained with all the home comforts and some well thought out little extras on arrival. Rural location, which we loved, and well situated for exploring both York and seaside. We loved it.
