Standing just off the High Street in the very heart of Lavenham, with easy walking access to cafés, friendly local pubs, fine dining, art galleries and shops. You will be spoilt for choice of where to eat, with plenty of first class restaurants on offer. As you stroll around Lavenham you will see several independently owned shops and boutiques. The village is well endowed with beauticians and there is also a well-known village butcher and baker.Lavenham is regarded as one of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval villages in the UK, boasting 320 listed timber framed buildings protected by English Heritage. Just 2 hours by car or train from London, visitors can enjoy a peaceful retreat whilst taking in the fine splendour. This very unique village was created some 750 years ago by Henry III when he granted Lavenham ’market’ status, and today, regular farmers markets are held.The cottages are perfect for exploring East Anglia’s nature and heritage. A short drive will take you into Bury St Edmunds, 11 miles, and Colchester, 18 miles, which boasts many shops, bars and restaurants. Ipswich harbour and marina, 19 miles, offers a great day out, with walking access into the town with its shops. For a more coastal scene, take a drive to the Suffolk coastline with its beautiful beaches and RSPB reserves. Visit the traditional seaside resorts of Aldeburgh, 41 miles, and Southwold, 51 miles. Thetford Forest, 24 miles, has 18,730 hectares of woodlands to explore including outdoor play, and designated circular cycle and walking trails for all abilities.
