You could sell this just on the location! For walkers, this property offers access directly onto footpaths to the hills above Ventnor and Wroxall, and walks beyond, including an eye-popping view of the Island from the Worsley Monument which is above the farmhouse. For those less likely to walk from the front-door, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are a short drive away (as are large supermarkets), and the rest of the Island, including the lovely secluded beaches on the south coast. The view from the property is stunning, and somewhat undersold in the photographs. The accommodation was very clean, with comfortable beds and two nicely fitted en-suites, and a separate bathroom for the other two rooms. The kitchen is modern, and well equipped, with dishwasher, large fridge and freezer with ice-maker, and separate under-counter fridge, and a good double oven and separate hob, with a good amount of crockery and cutlery, and selection of pans etc. The knives are utterly blunt, of course, but the kitchen lighting is actually very good, which is rare in a holiday cottage! There is a very large TV in the living room, which has FreeSat and a very decent internet connection (recently upgraded?) as well as a smaller one in the "snug". It is an old, stone farmhouse, with thick stone walls, and stone floors (and single glazing), and the heating struggled (in mid December) to get it warm at first (it had been unoccupied for a week), but warmed up after a day or so. This wouldn't be a problem in the summer. The hot water was copious, but required running hot taps in the bathrooms for quite a while before venturing into the showers. Given it's a private water supply, I guess that's not so bad! The property is a little sparse: the living room has some rather tatty sofas, and, as observed in other reviews, no tables suitable for putting down drinks or food (the one, large table, with woven raffia top, is quite remarkable, if really quite useless) . There's not much in the sense of decoration, and the dining room is quite bare, if capable of accommodating a full house. The exterior could do with some attention. Niggles aside, it's a fabulous location and comfortable accommodation, which makes for a very enjoyable stay.
