The scores I have given are not for 2 The Reading Room Cottages as there was someone else already staying there, but for number 3, which was identical, apart from having an extra single bed. I recall from an earlier review that someone else had problems with their booking on arrival, so maybe this is something that the manager of the properties needs to look into. Luckily the cottages are managed from the pub next door, so it wasn't too much of a problem for us. The property itself though was lovely and is situated in a beautiful village not far from both Barnard Castle and Richmond, and very handy for the main A66. Very tastefully furnished and decorated with everything we needed. The cottage was generally very clean, but we noticed that the bannister rail looked as if it needed repainting, but this turned out to be just dirt, and was easily removed with a damp cloth. Again, something that the management need to keep a check on. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly use again in the future, but would make sure the booking was confirmed by the manager before we arrived.
