This characterful, charming English cottage is great for couples or families. Enjoy your stay with attractions on your doorstep in the Cotswolds and Shakespeare’s Stratford-Upon-Avon.

This beautiful and picturesque character cottage is set in the pretty south Warwickshire village of Pillerton Hersey. Dating back to the 1800’s, Bunkers Cottage is a large, semi-detached cottage which has retained many of the original features including stunning solid oak beams throughout, large doors and frames, and a lovely oversized inglenook fireplace with open fire. It is perfect for a cosy night after a full day’s sightseeing.

With luxury items throughout the cottage such as a free-standing roll-top bath and views over the garden from every window, this is a little piece of paradise.

Being the old post office, Bunkers Cottage can be found opposite the village memorial, just a short stroll from the village church where regular services take place alongside local fetes and music concerts. And with beautiful rural walks right from the doorstep, you don’t have to go far to see more of what Pillerton and the surrounding area has to offer. You will find ample walking books in the cottage suitable for all abilities and ages that pass through vilages, alongside canals, open views of the Cotswolds just to name a few, and most with excellent pub stop opportunities along the way!

After exploring you can sit and relax in the large private garden soaking up the sunshine late into the evening. There is no better way to enjoy a glass of wine or dine alfresco! Then when the sun sets, wrap yourself in a blanket, fire up the chimenea and enjoy the night sky star watching with some melted marshmallows from the roaring fire to keep you going.

In the next village of Ettington, 2 miles away, you can find the local pub and well-stocked shop and post office. Keep going and you’ve got the stunning Ettington Manor, perfect for celebrating special occasions in style.

In addition, Stratford-upon-Avon, with its fascinating history of William Shakespeare, independent shops, cafés, restaurants and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, is just 8 miles away.

The famous Cotswold towns and villages are easily accessible and well worth a visit to see quintessential English Cotswold stone cottages including Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the Wold, Chipping Camden and Bourton-on-the-Water. Adam Henson’s Cotswold Park Farm is also just down the road and one that shouldn’t be missed if you are looking for a fabulous family day out. Warwick, famous for its castle and racecourse, Royal Leamington Spa and Kenilworth are all within easy reach. You can also find the Motor Museum at Gaydon 7 miles away where you can learn about vehicles through the ages, see famous cars and the history of Jaguar. No matter which direction you travel, you will see the most beautiful countryside views along the way.

Bunkers Cottage is rural, peaceful and a beautiful representation of what an English cottage should be. With historical towns and gorgeous villages surrounding the area, you have the perfect balance between country living and local convenience. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

Excellent. Only a couple of niggles in that the DVD player wasn't wired in and was hidden in a cupboard and also parental controls were set on the TV so we couldn't watch some of our favourite programmes.

The most exquisite house we have ever stayed in. All the rooms are beautifully decorated, to make you feel Special, the kitchen has everything and a bit more besides. The garden is kept tidy and the sheep keep the lawn down, (Decorative Sheep). And the roll top bath is the best.
