The cottage itself has well maintained decoration and is spacious, with nice views over the fields. Unfortunately a lot of the equipment is quite poor. The cooker is old and it is no longer possible to see the markings for the hot plate controls, as well as being dirty, as indeed is the oven interior. There is a plentiful assortment of cooking pans, but not a lid in sight, and one of the saucepans was not even washed since last use. The lounge furniture consisted of an uncomfortable 3 seater sofa, and a swivel chair absolutely on its last legs. Sadly the owner didn't call in to say hello, as it is useful if someone explains a few basics such as heating controls, rubbish arrangements etc. There was in fact a lot of information about the appliances, but you have to find it. There was also a lot of useful information about the local area. There were no references at all to any enhanced cleaning procedures in view of Coronavirus; and not even a bottle of hand sanitiser.
