Beadnell is a popular holiday destination for those seeking a traditional seaside retreat. The village is often acknowledged as the ’Jewel in Northumberland’s Seaside Crown’ with the glorious stretch of golden sands of Beadnell Bay, attracting an array of water sport enthusiasts. Sea kayaking, kite surfing and scuba diving can all be arranged locally.

Only two miles north is the traditional port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly. The village offers a further range of shops, pubs and tea rooms, and horseriding, fishing and golf are all available.

Travel a few miles inland to the characterful, historic market town of Alnwick with its own dramatic castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland. Alnwick Garden boasts the largest treehouse restaurant in Europe and is also a popular visitor attraction. Beach ½ mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 150 yards.

A wonderful apartment, fantastic location for exploring the coast and the inland hills and forests. The pub next door is a welcoming place with excellent food. Overall a great family holiday opportunity.

Maintenance very poor, two lights in bathroom hanging from ceiling, same as read in a review from a previous occupant ,quilt cover in first bedroom had no fasteners to stop quilt parting from cover, seems like both extracter fans not working in both bathrooms. Tie back for bedroom curtains loose in the wall ,in the second bedroom. Tie back missing on one side of curtains to patio area. Cobwebs around fishing rod in lounge . lampshades in second bedroom thick with dust also skirting board behind bed headboard. Four lights out of six inoperative in first bathroom, Dog hair on sofa and rug in lounge. Nice building ,great location ,lovely Apartment but let down badly by poor maintenance and cleanliness. For the sake of better presentation and attention to simple things and a few hours work . Shame that a lovely apartment has only a good rating not Great . Hopefully the owners will put right these simple things and get great reviews in the future

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I visited the property at the end of July. The lights were all OK. It seems a previous August guest looked as though they had tried to change the bulbs, as we were made aware an electrician was send to replace all lights which he did and all were replaced and are working now. Since my visit the curtains had also been pulled off the rails. The house keeper as sorted all the issues except the tie back that needs to be plugged into the wall. The fishing rods are ceiling height and are dusted once a month, they must have had a busy spider. Also the beds are pulled out monthly. This is our first poor review. We do leave telephone numbers and email addresses so that visitors can let us no asap with any issues and requirements.
