Set in a traditional 18th-century Lake District stone building and finished with stunning interior décor, this beautiful holiday cottage offers a relaxing getaway just on the outskirts of Ambleside. This spacious, detached property is all on one level, making it ideal for guests who are less mobile. The high quality furnishings throughout make for the perfect Lake District base in which to relax and unwind after a day’s adventure. The comfortable living room, complete with beams and a wood burner, is perfect to relax in front of whilst watching the flatscreen TV in the evening, whilst the kitchen/dining room offers a social and contemporary hub for a family feast and a glass of wine after a day on the fells. The kitchen is bright, clean and fully equipped with all you will need for your stay. The hallway from the kitchen leads to two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a super kingsize bed. Each bedroom comes with a wall mounted TV and has a bright, modern, en-suite shower room with contemporary fixtures. There is also a separate toilet just off the hallway. Outside you’ll find a cobbled area, a seating area, the ideal spot for a bit of fresh air whilst enjoying your morning coffee. Across the road is a communal garden with direct access to the River Brathay (please note there is a steep ladder down into the water), with additional seating and a grassed area. Boat hooks are provided for securing canoes and kayaks if you are thinking of bringing a kayak.
Situated in the hamlet of Clappersgate, and perched on a hillside, this fantastically situated two-bedroom holiday cottage boasts magnificent views across the Lake to Windermere and the fells beyond. You can easily walk into Ambleside town centre, which is just 1 mile away. Ambleside is famous for an abundance of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, delis and plenty of great shops, including outdoor wear and fashion.

Over all very good but it was disappointing that the welcome pack that was promised wasn’t there. Also the property clearly has an issue with damp and the driveway is very very steep
