It's not just that Ganny House and Ganny Cottage are cosy, warm, well equipped, tastefully decorated and homely - the main reason we love these properties (and have re-visted several times over the years) is that they are in a beautiful part of the south western lakes - the eskdale valley. It's not too spoilt by busy tourism as some areas are, rather it has gentle walks and stunning scenery. You can walk from the properties from the front door all the way down the valley to Boot.. with a choice of nice pubs for lunch.. and Stanley Ghyll waterfall is on the same walk. Wast Water is also a short drive away.. the deepest of all the lakes.. very spooky and atmospheric.

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful views and fantastic weather. Great walk down to the pub via the stepping stones. Really quiet location and a ideal place to stay if want to escape the madness and mayhem.
