Situated in a peaceful location, this holiday property makes an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area. The area offers a tremendous amount to occupy guests, with golf courses, sailing, horse riding, cycling amongst many other adventurous activities available locally. For those with young children, there are also a number of great days out on the doorstep. If arts and culture are a passion, a quick glance at the surroundings will see exactly why the region has inspired so many artists, writers and craftsmen. Great Salkeld is a picture-postcard village with red sandstone cottages, clustered by the village church. The village inn, just 200 yards away serves local real ale. The property is part of Wetheral Cottages, which is surrounded by well-maintained gardens that lead to a small paddock adjacent to the cottage, which is great space for play or adventure within the grounds. The village playground, 100 yards away, offers swings, junior assault course as well as hard and grassed areas for ball games. Garth can be booked with High Croft (CC132181), Windale (CC132182), Mickledale (CC132183) and Langriggs (CC132184) to accommodate larger parties of up to 20 guests.
