Lovely little cottage in a splendid location and very friendly and helpful hosts. Understandably, the mobile phone reception and the wi-fi was a little patchy, given all the rather solid hills around but that was a minor aspect of a very pleasant stay.

Heather Cottage is more than the sum of its parts. Its location is stunning with views up Swaledale that are wonderful. Walks from the door are possible but nearby livestock has to be respected. A far greater range of walks are within short driving distances or within walking range. In the cottage the equipment supplied was entirely adequate so we could compose anything we wanted in the kitchen, we could generate a roaring fire that quickly heated the whole cottage, and upstairs was cosy. To to[ it all, the owners Ben and Sue were on hand to help get the best from the cottage and they were ready to supply answers to any question, but never intrusive.

Lovely stay at Heather Cottage with our dog. Spotlessly clean, great welcome hamper, copious coal & wood to keep the fire going. A great little place to get away from it all in some stunning countryside.
