In the Buttermere Valley, peacefully located at the end of a leafy country lane, this charming Grade II listed barn, part of an 18th-century fell farm, has an idyllic setting with stunning views across Crummock Water to the Grasmoor range of fells. The property shares a courtyard with the adjoining farmhouse and has a secluded garden with patio. Situated only ½ mile from Loweswater village, there are many beautiful walks direct from Highpark, from a gentle lake stroll to the more challenging Melbreak Fell. Wildlife is abundant with falcons, nightingales and red squirrels. Shop 4 miles, pub ½ mile (featured in ’Good Pub Guide’).

    We had a really lovely stay in High Park. The cottage has a rustic feel but all the modern amenities required to have a comfortable stay. The view is phenomenal and we spent many hours just looking out of the window at the fells. There are many wonderful walks around the Buttermere valley that you can do straight from the cottage, and the surrounding area is wonderfully quiet. The only slight quibble is that the boiler was set so that we only had enough hot water for a shower each in the morning and then it ran out. I would highly recommend High Park for those looking to really escape from it all!
