These two fabulous properties enjoy a secluded setting between St Helens and Seaview and feature access to Priory Bay and a private beach. Both are great choices for larger families and groups of friends wanting to holiday together or celebrate a special occasion. Cluniac Cottage (ref UK13293) is a stone-built, mid-terrace cottage laid out across four bedrooms, two living rooms and a stylish dining room, boasting great views over the surrounding countryside and out to sea. The Coach House (ref UK13294) can sleep up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, and like Cluniac Cottage is dog friendly too. The property’s stand out room is the lovingly furnished open plan kitchen, living and dining area, with an impressive high ceiling and underfloor heating.Long before the Doomsday Book was written there was a monastery situated here. The monks enjoyed the revenues from the estate for a long period, but during the reign of Henry VIII all foreign religious orders were banished from England, including the Cluniac Order, from which the cottage takes its name. The nearby village of Seaview has a strong maritime history, and during the summer months the village becomes a busy centre for sailing and water sports. Its reputation as an Edwardian resort was built on its sea views and great sandy beaches, and these are still two of its largest assets. The nearby beach of Springvale offers some wonderful views of the famous Solent Forts. To the rear of Springvale is Puckpool Park, built within a former Victorian fortification battery. Here you’ll find a children’s play park, tennis courts and mini-golf that form part of its beautiful gardens. Further along the coast is the popular seaside town of Ryde with its host of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. The stretches of sand here offer fantastic views across the Solent to Portsmouth, with the landmark Spinnaker Tower forming an impressive backdrop to a busy shipping channel. Along the promenade, you will find tennis courts, ten-pin bowling, a fun fair, canoe lake and a swimming pool.Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, paragliding, water sports, golf and even go-karting. Pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and Gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Isle of Wight Zoo, the famous Needles, Ventnor Botanical Gardens or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. Beach 520 yards. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 18 guests.
