This apartment is a great base from which to explore both Devon and Cornwall, with plenty of attractions within easy reach.

Tucked away in a quiet rural location and enjoying views over the Kensey Valley and surrounding countryside, these superb adjoining apartments (refs T44, T45 and T46) lie within the grounds of the owners’ farmhouse. Set amongst open countryside, they have been renovated to a high standard and offer inviting holiday accommodation - perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Each property has access to the garden of the main house, where there is a play area. There are also pigs and free range chickens, which children can help to feed, or collect the eggs, which are available for guests to purchase. Fronted by an attractive courtyard with a barbecue and picnic area and two paddocks that are perfect for walking the dogs, visitors will find plenty of space to relax and unwind.

The apartments offer an ideal base for touring both Devon and Cornwall, and are within easy reach of the A30. Located centrally between north and south coasts, it is not more than a 25-minute drive from a selection of good sandy beaches ideal for rock pooling, surfing and dog walking. Boscastle and Tintagel, the small sandy cove of Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven, as well as some of the most spectacular coastal walks in the area can be found nearby. Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are within easy reach as are several magnificent National Trust houses and gardens. The popular Eden Project is also easily accessible.

Historic Launceston, 1 mile, once the capital of Cornwall, offers a medieval castle, a selection of shops and a steam railway. There are two excellent golf courses within a short distance and a selection of horse riding schools nearby. Shops 1½ miles and a selection of local pubs offering excellent food; nearest approximately 1 mile.
Skyber (ref T44), Kylden (ref T45) and Caradow (ref T46) can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.

    Superficially the cottage was clean but there were significant areas where cobwebs and dust had not been cleaned for some considerable time. Should it be required these can be detailed more specifically but they were in relativily conspicuous locations. There are concerns regarding the plumbing in the bathroom; the property appears to share the same water supply as other properties on the site and on a number of occasions water pressure dropped significantly whilst the shower was being used that had not reactions been quicker then the risk of scalding could have occurred. This risk would be much greater had infirm or very young people been involved. It is felt that this needs addressing on an urgent basis.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. I’m afraid that cobwebs in an old barn conversion are a constant and unavoidable issue, and whilst we do our best to keep on top of them, it is something we hope that guests will accept as part of staying in an old converted dairy barn with high beams. With response to your comments about the plumbing, we have been here for 4 years now, and yours is the first complaint we have had about the water in Kylden. We do always stress to guests to come and tell us if there are any issues, and seeing as you were staying with us for 2 weeks, you had ample time to inform us of this problem. Had you done, I am sure it could have been sorted with no problem.
