Lavender Cottage is a classic country abode that encapsulates all that is great about the traditional English holiday. Just 2 miles from the sea with comfortable, elegant furnishings throughout, this enchanting period property is perfect for spending time with the family. From the moment you cross its threshold, you’ll be struck by the cottage’s homelike charm. Owing to the wood-burning stove in the dining room, there’s a warm and cosy feel even in the bleakest of winters, and your cheeky little monkeys (and furry friends) are sure to have a good run-around in the enclosed garden lawn (leaving you free to sit back on the veranda without a care in the world!). The kitchen boasts a bright and natural social space, and guests wishing to avoid stairs are accommodated for, with 2 bedrooms and an en-suite on the ground floor.

Its location is one of Lavender Cottage’s top features; tucked away amongst the trees, you’d never suspect that Norfolk’s north coast is just a short drive away. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the region is a safe haven for native wildlife, so nature lovers – be sure to bring your binoculars! If you’re willing to go further afield, boat trips are available to the seal colony, RSPB and nature reserves from Morson Quay.
Holkham Hall and beach are certainly worth a visit. Bustling villages in the area include Blakeney Quay, the historical market town of Holt, and Burnham Market is a short drive away. The medieval village of Walsingham (2 miles) is rich in archaeological treasures, historical and religious interests whilst Wells and Walsingham light railway is well worth a visit. The Norfolk Coastal Path offers excellent rambling opportunities, and is an invigorating way to see Norfolk’s smooth green belt. Capture the essence of the north of Norfolk at Blakeney Quay, the historical market town of Holt, and Burnham Market, all three of which are but a short drive away. For the history buffs, the age-old village of Walsingham is rich in archaeological treasures, and for the younger audience, the Wells and Walsingham railway is a must.

A little closer to home, the popular seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea has an equally impressive golden stretch backed by colourful beach huts and rolling sand dunes. You can also watch the fishing port scene unfold at the harbour, and for the food aficionado, the local fish mongers’ fresh crab and lobsters are second to none.
