This quintessential, Cotswold stone period holiday property, with parking and garden, has been beautifully styled and is set in the heart of a popular village.

This quintessential, Cotswold stone period holiday property, with parking and garden, has been beautifully styled and is set in the heart of a popular village.

This delightful, adjoining holiday property nestles in Bourton-on-the-Water, known as ‘The Little Venice of the Cotswolds’, and is which is famed for its series of low stone bridges spanning the fast flowing River Windrush. Little Gem Cottage is charmingly furnished and is warm and cosy with a feature wood burner in the living room, exposed stonework and an attractive enclosed patio garden. The ground floor accommodation comprises an open plan living/dining room/kitchen and there is a wall-mounted Smart TV. Appliances are Bosch or Neff, and include a washing machine, dishwasher, 4-ring hob, double oven, fridge with freezer box and a microwave. The first floor offers a beautifully dressed double bedroom with kingsize bed, a wall-mounted Smart TV, and a bathroom with feature roll-top bath and separate rain shower, toilet and sink. Egyptian cotton towels are provided, as well as 500+ thread count cotton bed linen. From a stable door in the kitchen, the pretty patio garden can be accessed, where there is an outdoor sofa, Weber barbecue and Bramblecrest table with chairs for al fresco dining. Unusually for Bourton-on-the-Water, there is a private parking space for guests.
The centre of the village is just a short, level stroll away and many walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep; why not unwind by taking a leisurely stroll along the River Windrush or have a day out exploring the Cotswold Way? There are plenty of sightseeing opportunities, including the model village, Cotswolds Motor Museum, Birdworld and The Cotswold Perfumery. You can also enjoy many individual shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as a gentle stroll by the water’s edge. Other nearby villages with honey-coloured cottages well worth a visit include Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh (with its famous Tuesday market), Broadway and Chipping Campden. The city of Gloucester, with its magnificent cathedral and tomb of Edward, is within easy reach, as is the Regency city of Cheltenham with the famous Cheltenham Racecourse. National Trust properties are abundant, including Snowshill Manor and Woodchester Park. For horticultural enthusiasts, there is Westonbirt Arboretum, Kiftsgate Court and Hidcote Manor. Nice location with the town within easy walking distance, very nice pub very close by. Lots of cafes to enjoy various lunches. Having bird land, motor museum and the model village we did not have to use our car during our four day stay. Cottage refurbished to a very high standard, very comfortable bed and two TVs, one in the bedroom. Very nice shower but the bath was not to our taste. Cottage was very cold when we arrived however the caretaker was very good at sorting out the problem with the heating and the cottage was very warm for the rest of our stay. Very nice property which was ideal for a short break for two and would certainly recommend.

Perfect holiday cottage in a great locations. Everything you need for a perfect holiday. Only slight thing that we personally thought was missing was a set of curtains over the front and back doors for a bit more privacy! Other than that though it was 10/10!
