Outside areas need sweeping and the potted plants need a lot of TLC!

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review and rating of 8 out of 10. Unfortunately it is not possible in the Cornish winter climate to have pots in bloom. I can assure you the pots are full of colour through spring and summer. At this time of year it can be very windy and our staff do their best but a swept drive can look unswept in a few minutes. I note that everything else about the cottage was to your satisfaction.

A beautiful cottage, very comfortable and has everything you need. We stayed for two weeks and it felt like home, didn’t want to leave. The area is just beautiful, lovely walks a long the beach and great food at c-bay and the bowgie pub just across the road. Thanks for a lovely holiday

Third stay at Manor Cottage, and already booked twice for next year. Methinks that says that we like it! Reason for marking only 8 out of 10 for location... It was ideal for us - pub and excellent dog walks (on beach) on doorstep - but if someone expected a range of other amenities within walking distance, they might be a little disappointed. But to repeat - the location was absolutely ideal for us.

My heart belongs to Cornwall and especially West Pentire already so to find this gem of a holiday cottage is such great news! The cottage is clean and modern and has a lovely little sun trap of a patio which is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. Manor Cottage is also located next to Cbay for incredible food and drinks with a fab view and also next to Bowgie for a relaxed pub environment. This cottage is also well located for a quick walk to Polly Joke for a great beach or down the headland to the creek which is a secret fave - great beach when tide is out and super swimming hole when tide is in. Caroline (the owner of Manor) and Jo (the property manager) are both incredibly helpful and quick to reply. Get your essentials delivered by online shop but if not Crantock Village has all you need (including fantastic pasties) and Morrison’s is a short drive away. I’ve already booked Manor Cottage again for the same time next year!

Manor cottage comfortably accommodates four and is perfectly situated for access by foot to the nearby beaches of Crantock, Polly Joke, Holywell and the local amenities of picturesque Crantock village. We have stayed in West Pentire on and off over many years but this was our first time at Manor Cottage, where we would happily stay again. While not having much of a garden as such, the sun-trap of a patio is the perfect spot for breakfast and there is plenty of room for washing & drying wetsuits etc. The greatest benefit of all was being able to leave the car unused for the whole week while making the most of the beautiful paths and beaches that the West Pentire headland has to offer. It was as enchanting as ever.

Perfect cottage; perfect location for us. We've been there before and we've already book again (twice). That should say it all. N.B: We've given a '7' for the local amenities. To explain...The local amenities were excellent for our requirements, but some people might find them a little lacking - the lack of a shop within walking distance, for example.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review of 9 out of 10. And we are delighted that you have made it your holiday destination on several occasions. As you say “that should say it all”.. I have to say I am a little perplexed by your comment that some people not yourselves would find the amenities a little lacking. Within a five minute walk there is the choice of food and drink at a pub with great sea views or five minutes in another direction you have a bistro/cafe again with stunning views that is also a restaurant in the evening with cocktail bar. Within a few minutes walk there is also a spa for treatments, a small art gallery and the cottage is within a ten minute walk at most from not one but two stunning beaches. A beautiful ten minute walk takes you to a local camping shop open to all selling coffees, pastries, groceries, newspapers , toiletries and household goods. A walk of ten minutes further at at very moderate pace takes you to the centre of Crantock village, where there is a well stocked shop selling groceries, hot food, newspapers, household items and toiletries and even a post office. There are also two pubs and a lovely tea shop and cafe selling great home made food. On Crantock beach there is another artisan coffee shop and you can hire wet suits and boards and have surfing lessons. We feel the location, as I am sure you do, has the right balance between providing amenities guests want and a relaxing holiday location. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to the cottage again.
