Enjoy a relaxing break in this superb Grade ll listed property in the heart of Worcestershire, with Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds within easy reach.

Enjoy a relaxing break in this superb Grade ll listed property in the heart of Worcestershire, with Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds within easy reach.

A classic black and white, Grade II listed cottage dating back to the 1600s is situated in the thriving village of Eckington with its famed stone bridge next to the River Avon in the Vale of Evesham. With plenty of character and original charm, this spacious two bedroom cottage, each with its own en-suite, makes an ideal getaway for small families, friends and couples wishing to stay in a beautiful, quintessential, English cottage in Worcestershire. The living room boasts a lovely fireplace with a roaring fire on a cold evening, but in the warmer months you can enjoy sitting out in the large well-kept garden. Manor Cottage is a short walk from the river and there is a circular walk along the river bank to a picturesque lock.

Eckington lies below Bredon Hill and is situated between Pershore and Tewkesbury, has two pubs to choose from, a village store and the famous Eckington Manor Cookery School where you can brush up on your cooking skills or just enjoy a fantastic meal in their restaurant, all within a few yards from Manor Cottage. The village of Eckington hosts many events and fêtes including a popular music festival, and is a great place to start a country walk or cycle with Bredon Hill close by, but if you want to venture further afield, there is plenty to see and do in the area.

The Georgian town of Pershore is 4 miles away where you can find many high street shops, tea shops, boutiques and supermarkets, and the train line from here runs to London Paddington station. The historic riverside town of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire is 7 miles away where you can visit Tewkesbury Abbey in the centre of the town, or the museum. Enjoy one of the many scenic and historic trails through the town, take a boat trip along the River Avon or attend one of the many events, celebrations and festivals throughout the year.
A short drive will take you into the Cotswolds where you can explore the many pretty towns and villages including Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. The Regency town of Cheltenham where you can enjoy a day at the races, is 14 miles, Upton-upon-Severn is 7 miles and Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon is 24 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Ground Floor:

Beautiful traditional 16th century beamed cottage. Very well equipped. Warm and cosy, and overall very comfortable. Beautiful garden. A few 'quirks' re low ceilings, uneven floors and upstairs layout that inevitably come with the age of the cottage! But overall very good. Would definitely return.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you very much for your review. It would be fascinating if walls and floors could talk, there would be a lot to tell from the last 400 years.

We stay in eight or nine cottages every year and this is the best we’ve been in. Everything was perfect. All the old features still in tact but with every modern convenience you need for a very comfortable stay. A good pub for very nice meals just a short walk away and a visit to Croome is a must. Thank you Michael and Tracy for an excellent week. We hope to return next year. Definitely five star. Margaret & David C

We immediately felt very much at home in the cottage. The rooms are decorated with love for the detail. Especially the open fire was cosy in the evenings.

Very comfortable and spacious cottage set in a lovely garden. Lovely riverside walk close by and an easy walk to a good pub. Very nice to have milk and a welcome basket. Also the housekeeping was excellent and really nice to arrive at a warm cottage. Would recommend.

We found the cottage well equipped and with a high standard of fixtures and fittings. Although not used much at this time of year the garden is delightful and we would have used it more in warmer weather.
