A beautifully presented, semi-detached cottage, situated on the rural outskirts of Wroxall, on the south east side of the Isle of Wight. Manor Farm Cottage is able to comfortably accommodate up to six guests over three bedrooms.
The village of Wroxall lies mid-way between Shanklin and Ventnor, and is surrounded by St. Martin’s Down, Littledown, Span and Stenbury, over which are wonderful walks to the neighbouring towns of Shanklin, Ventnor and the village of Luccombe.
Associated with Wroxall is the English Heritage maintained Appuldurcombe House. Once the grandest and most striking house on the Isle of Wight, Appuldurcombe’s 18th-century Baroque elegance is still notable today in the partly restored shell of the building. Admire the delightful east front and stroll peacefully through Lancelot ’Capability’ Brown’s 11-acres grounds. A perfect place for a picnic and the grounds are a haven for wildlife.
The popular seaside resort of Ventnor is just a short drive away offering a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the esplanade. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, a park and a children’s paddling pool. The town, which for the most part is built on the steep hill leading to the beach, retains its original seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family.
Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages, pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and Gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, the famous Needles, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. There is plenty to discover and keep you entertained. Beach 3 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant ¾ miles.
