The setting of the accommodation is stunning, simply no other word for it. The Rousdon Estate is a credit to it's owners and occupiers and long may it continue. The lack of light pollution is marked and will amaze anyone used to towns and streetlights, on one evening of our stay we had an overnight temperature of -4C and the starscape revealed was absolutely amazing. The accommodation itself is beautifully presented and contains everything you could possibly need for your stay. The private beach is a good 45 minute walk from the accommodation and you'll need to be nimble to get there as the path isn't the greatest in places. We did it once as it was there and toasted marshmallows over a driftwood fire before venturing back. Locally the Rousdon Village Bakery is well worth visit for food as it's quircky and delicious, Lyme Regis is okay but does get extremely busy but what surprised us was how nice Sidmouth was, it's well worth a visit, as is the tramway at Seaton.

This is a wonderful property in a beautiful setting, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The extra touches on arrival add to the quality feel of this property. The estate is a peaceful retreat from the rush of everyday life, but close enough to Lyme Regis and other surrounding villages to make sightseeing quick and easy. No need to be driving for miles to reach points of local interest. The Jurassic coast on the door step is, of course, the jewel in the crown and the private local beach a wonderful bonus. A definite gem of a cottage.

The cottage was lovely and a very interesting property overall. Really sympathetic conversion. The spiral staircase would be challenging for anyone not physically able. The provided stair gates were perfect for a toddler. My little grandson loved running around in the large courtyard of the stable complex. It is a great privilege to have access to the private beach. The area is very beautiful. Wonderful countryside.
