We have visited this beautiful area many times but usually we would be camping. Therefore it was lovely to find a cottage so close to where we usually stay. The cottage situated in the Rousdon estate was excellent, set in a lovely peaceful surrounding. Cottage was well equipped. All in all had a great holiday.

The setting of the accommodation is stunning, simply no other word for it. The Rousdon Estate is a credit to it's owners and occupiers and long may it continue. The lack of light pollution is marked and will amaze anyone used to towns and streetlights, on one evening of our stay we had an overnight temperature of -4C and the starscape revealed was absolutely amazing. The accommodation itself is beautifully presented and contains everything you could possibly need for your stay. The private beach is a good 45 minute walk from the accommodation and you'll need to be nimble to get there as the path isn't the greatest in places. We did it once as it was there and toasted marshmallows over a driftwood fire before venturing back. Locally the Rousdon Village Bakery is well worth visit for food as it's quircky and delicious, Lyme Regis is okay but does get extremely busy but what surprised us was how nice Sidmouth was, it's well worth a visit, as is the tramway at Seaton.
