Converted wing of Grade II Georgian country house, short walk to 17th century smugglers inn, Keyhaven Estuary close by.

In the New Forest National Park, ¼ mile from the sea, this attractively converted wing of a large 1780 Grade II listed Georgian country house lies in its own formal gardens. A 5-minute walk through a wild flower meadow (Dexter cows in winter) leads to a 17th-century smugglers’ inn serving good food. Beyond the inn lies Keyhaven Estuary with sailing clubs and public launching quay. Milford-on-Sea, 1 mile, for shops (inc fishmonger) and beach. Walking/off road cycling in the New Forest, along the sea wall or traffic-free Ancient Highway to the Georgian town of Lymington (Saturday morning street market). Local bike hire, horse riding and golf. Sea fishing, ferries to the Isle of Wight and bird watching in Keyhaven Nature Reserve. Hurst Castle, Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Portsmouth and Bournemouth are easily accessible. Shops 1 mile.

Living/dining room with vaulted ceiling. Well-equipped kitchen. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Galleried double bedroom (5ft bed) with low sloping ceiling.

Really lovely. Everything provided that you could possibly want. Shame pub in village within walking distance not open regularly but plenty of others a short drive away.

A very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The cottage was comfortable, well equipped, with an attractive garden and a good location. We were made very welcome and well looked after during our stay
