Seaglass Barn, Sky was a bit of a disappointment unfortunately. On the face of it it is very well appointed and quirky. However, it wasn't particularly clean and there were a lot of things that were broken or needed attention especially the outside decking which had warped badly. We booked this property because we had an elderly relative with us with mobility problems so the decking was a problem. Also, although there is a slope to gain access to the property at the back there was gravel at the side which she could not negotiate her walking aid over so we had to help her in and out of the front door which had three steps. One of the bathroom doors kept sliding off its rails when opened and at one point locked in the occupant. The shower attachment over the bath was broken so could not be used so to wash hair we had to use someone else's bathroom. Not a problem exactly but not what you expect to have to do when the reason for booking a cottage with three bathrooms is to be able to have full use of them all. Also, one of the en-suite bathrooms didn't have a door and the toilet is situated immediately in front of the bed!!!! Not exactly very private :-( Whilst we were there we also had a big problem with the drains which we thought was because of the torrential rain we'd had but after three restless nights of a sound similar to a wailing cow, enough was enough. We did contact the owner who, in turn, contacted the local water company who came out the next evening. Peaceful nights after that but lots of gurgling in the sinks and toilets. It's such a shame that these things spoil the cottage …….. On the plus side, the welcome hamper was very good and the wild flower garden at the back is spectacular. It is also in a very quiet location
