This was our second visit to Stewner Bank Cottage. We really like this part of Cumbria as it has the benefit of being near some great coastline while the Lakes (eg. Coniston and Windermere) are only around 30 minutes away. As ever, everything was to our satisfaction in the cottage and we had a relaxing week, despite the best efforts of the weather! Even better this time around was the excellent 4G phone coverage that is now in place; great for those people (grandkids) who have to have internet access.

A really lovely cottage. Fairly remote location but that’s what we wanted! Had a wonderful week here.

A nice barn conversion with good size rooms and benefitting from all bedrooms having en suites. The only criticism from some members of our party was the ground source heating system which could not be user controlled and kept the premises on the cool side for them, although the gas fire in the living room made up for this in the evenings. Lack of WiFi was another issue but wholly understandable in such a rural location.
