Great for couples and friends looking for a spacious and high-end retreat within the Cotswolds. Views, country walks and great pubs surround.

Stonebarrow is a traditional Cotswold stone cottage sitting pretty within the ’Queen of the Cotswold’, Painswick. There is a good selection of traditional pubs, an independent village shop and fabulous country walks right on its doorstep - this is an ideal location for walkers. Stonebarrow is just a 20-minute drive from the centre of Cheltenham.
Luxuriously appointed over two floors with an abundance of space, the property has one master en-suite, a hand-made kitchen, and an enclosed garden; it is the ultimate luxury retreat. Decadent touches throughout include a large walk-in wardrobe and a roll-top bath. Outdoor features include a barbecue for those long summer nights with a backdrop of the Cotswold hills. In the master bedroom, the double bed is beautifully adorned with a soft topped mattress and a mix of French linen and Egyptian cotton bedding. The bedroom also offers views of the rolling hills and beyond.
If you are looking for country pursuits and adventure, put on your tweed and boots as you have it all on your doorstep. Historic Painswick is located at the midway point of the scenic Cotswold Way national trail; this glorious central stage of the Cotswold Way offers beautiful walks through pretty villages and hamlets with long-distance views. Just a short meander through the village will put you on the trail to Painswick Beacon with its breath-taking views across the Malvern Hills, and on clear days views as far as Wales. There are also numerous local ancient woods to explore and nearby are the magical Rococo Gardens. Painswick, famous for its church and yew trees, boasts two historic pubs and The Painswick hotel, great places for supper after days of exploring.
Bohemian Stroud, recently named by The Sunday Times as the best place to live in Britain 2021, is a 3-mile drive away and has an array of independent shops and a very popular Saturday farmers’ market. Many towns and villages are within a 25-mile radius, including Cirencester known as the capital of the Cotswolds, historic Bath, Royal Tetbury, Cheltenham, famous for its racing and festivals, and Gloucester with its magnificent cathedral. The area is abundant with National Trust properties and other attractions, such as Sudeley Castle, Daylesford organic farm and Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust. Stunning, honey coloured North Cotswold villages, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden are just one hours drive away.
