Fantastic little cottage with charm and character. It was a delight to stay in Sandsend in such a glorious position. Despite the proximity of the road it was not at all noticeable. Hopefully will be staying here again

This is a very pleasant cottage though would not be suitable for a family with young children or elderly people because of steps everywhere. Also, it is on a steep hill, on a narrow corner and, in practice, parking is up the road on the opposite side of the road in a slipway. Also, the shower is in a separate building in the back yard although it is very pleasantly warm. None of this mattered much to us but what did concern us was the fact that the kitchen radiator did not work and as the whole of the downstairs is open plan, the chill did permeate.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Children and elderly people up to 90+ have recently enjoyed holidays here. There is one step upstairs and one downstairs. This is because years ago Sunnyside was 2 separate cottages. The secondary parking is 30 paces from the corner of the cottage as you go slightly uphill across the road. The ‘slipway’ mentioned is off road and at the bottom of the approach to a long drive to another house; It is not on a slope into the sea intended for boats. In several phone calls with this visitor we instructed them to ensure the radiator was turned on. No problem was reported by a visitor 2 weeks previously. The engineer who visited subsequently confirmed it was turned off. We also offered to buy an electric heater as the engineer was not replying to calls it being Christmas but the visitor did not take us up on this. In any case as of January 2019, Sunnyside has a brand new combi boiler and refitted kitchen.
