The town of Looe is situated around a small harbour and along the steep-sided valley of the river Looe, which flows between east and west Looe to the sea beside a sandy beach. Off shore to the west, opposite the stonier Hannafore Beach, lays the picturesque St George’s Island, commonly known as Looe Island. Polperro is situated on the River Pol, 4 miles west of the neighbouring town of Looe, it is well-known for its idyllic location, surrounded by tightly packed old fishermen’s houses which makes it attractive to tourists, particularly in the summer months.Days out include Carnglaze Caverns, three caverns of cathedral proportions, hand created by local slate miners. During your tour you will go 150 metres into the hillside and 60 metres below ground, via a flight of 60 steps. In the lower chambers you will find the subterranean lake with its crystal clear blue/green water. Fowey is situated on the south coast of Cornwall between Looe and Mevagissey. It is not only an historic town, but also a commercial seaport. Over the centuries Fowey has grown and now stretches for about a mile along the west bank of the River Fowey to the mouth of the river.Golf, surfing, horse riding, kayaking and swimming are all available nearby. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
